     Prairie Ironweed is similar to its relative Veronica missurica (‘Joe-Pye Weed’), with clusters of vibrant, reddish-purple flowers. Named for its strong fibrous  3 foot tall stems. Prefers moister soils and at least half day full sun.  Flowers from midsummer to early autumn.
